This site chronicles the adventures of two middle-aged blokes walking the South West Coast Path (SWCP) - England's longest continuous long distance footpath. Like all great journeys this one was conceived and planned in a pub!
We started the walk back in April 2009, which was around the point we both hit the milestone age of 40. The objective was to walk the 630 miles from Minehead (Somerset) to Poole Harbour (Dorset) in annual seven day stints. Unfortunately, minor trifles such as work and family commitments meant we don't have the luxury of doing the whole walk in one mammoth six week hit! As of May 2013 we'd made it as far as Sidmouth - 536 miles in. We had to skip 2014, but in April 2015, we completed the final leg of the journey in a total of 44 days of walking. (some were half days, to be fair.) The site is split into yearly sections, each containing stage reports for the days we've completed. There's also an overview for each year showing all the "vital statistics": stage lengths, walking durations, ascents. |
